A private concierge office serving a small number of European and Middle Eastern households. Membership by introduction only.
For nearly half a century, Wissmann has held a single, narrow brief — to remove friction from the lives of those for whom friction is not an inconvenience but a hazard.
We do not advertise. We do not court attention. The work we are best known for is the work no one will ever recognise — a flight that left on time, a residence that was ready, a matter that did not become a matter at all.
Our clients are heads of state, sovereign families, and a small number of private individuals whose names are not for these pages. We know them, and they know us, and that is the entirety of the relationship.
They have been part of our household longer than most of our household has. One simply does not consider an arrangement; the arrangement is made.
In thirty-one years I have never heard our name on the other side of a Wissmann telephone call. That is the entire measure of them.
Other firms produce results. Wissmann produces calm. The first is a service; the second, I have come to understand, is rarer and more useful.
Our father retained them. Our mother retained them. Our children will, I expect, do the same. There is something to be said for institutions that endure quietly.
We do not maintain a client list, in any form, on any system, in any jurisdiction.
We do not speak of our work, before, during, or after a mandate.
Every member of our staff is bound by lifetime undertakings, vetted privately, and known to us personally. We do not publish their names either.
Wissmann does not accept unintroduced enquiries. New mandates are considered only on the recommendation of an existing principal, a trusted advisor, or a private banker known to the office.
Should you have such an introduction, we would be glad to receive a short note. A member of the office will respond within seven working days, in writing, by the means you indicate.
